In Mapudungun: Dalkawe, ‘place of dalcas’, dalcas are the boats used by the ancient inhabitants of Chiloé. Dalcahue is one of the most visited towns by tourists in Chiloé for its beauty and tranquility, with one of the best handicraft markets in the province and the famous "Cocinerías": typical food kitchens. Its the ideal point to start exploring the towns of the interior coast of Chiloe Island, located just 20 minutes from the provincial capital Castro.

The town of Tenaún is located about 40 kilometers from Dalcahue, and the town of San Juan about 32 km, both with incredible wooden Churches declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The Tocoihue waterfall is located between both towns and the island of Quinchao in front of Dalcahue, where you can visit the towns of Curaco de Vélez and Achao.
